In today’s economic conditions, it is essential for entrepreneurs to find ways to optimize expenses. One way to ease the financial burden is to take advantage of the ZUS contribution exemption. This program offers temporary relief from social contributions, allowing entrepreneurs to focus on business growth. In this article, we will cover how to utilize the ZUS contribution holiday and what requirements must be met.
Starting from November 1, 2024, entrepreneurs can take advantage of a “contribution holiday” for one month. The exemption applies only to contributions that the business owner pays for themselves. Contributions for employees or contractors must still be paid, even if the entrepreneur has taken sick leave.
Exemptions include:
- mandatory contributions: pension insurance, disability insurance, and accident insurance;
- contributions to the Labor Fund and Solidarity Fund;
- voluntary sickness insurance. This applies if you were insured in the month the exemption application was submitted, as well as in the month prior.
Important:
The exemption does not apply to health insurance contributions.
