Opening your own business or purchasing a business in Poland is a great opportunity not only for Europeans but also for residents of other countries. Developed infrastructure, a convenient tax system, and the right to legalization are just some of the advantages of doing business in the Republic of Poland.
Anyone, not only Poles, can open a business of any form in Poland, including foreigners. For example, Ukrainians with a PESEL number and citizens of the European Union, European Economic Area, the United States, and Switzerland can freely open their own company or branch.
For citizens of other countries, additional requirements apply. They must have, for example, a permanent residence permit, an EU long-term residence permit, a temporary residence permit for certain grounds (family reunification, university studies, scientific research, refugee status, humanitarian reasons, marriage to a Polish citizen, entrepreneurial activity, temporary protection), a Pole’s Card, or be a family member of an EU citizen.
